Sim Card for Burglar Alarm

Hi all,
I've recently had a new alarm installed and it has a slot for a SIM card so it can dial our phones if the alarm is triggered. I was looking to get a pay as you go SIM and stick a fiver of credit on it so it's got enough to dial out if needed but hopefully any calls will be few and far between and I believe that a lot of PAYG SIMs need to be topped up with (e.g.) £10 every six months otherwise the account gets closed down.
Anyone got a recommendation on what SIM to get for this please?

I've not used them myself but I understand that PAYG credit on GiffGaff doesn't expire. However, your SIM will be deactivated if they determine it is "inactive", which means you have to do something which uses your credit (e.g., make a call) at least once every six months.
Apparently they send email warnings one month before and then again five days before deactivating the SIM. Source: Why has my number been deactivated? | giffgaff Help2 -
There was talk today of a £1 per month pay monthly deal with unlimited calls and texts. Could be worth the extra fiver or so a year just to save the hassle of topping up.
Edit: Found it.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Get a PAYG SIM for which the credit doesn't expire, such as Asda Mobile and put a fiver credit on it. You should test your alarm peridically, so deliberately set it off once every six months to make it call you. Not only does that confirm it is working, it keeps the SIM alive.
