Additional Sockets - rough price

We need two additional ( double) sockets in our living room.
We have 2 double sockets already - in the wrong place (at skirting board level) - not flush mounted.
Internal walls are all brick/plaster.
Roughly how much are we looking at ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

With all the digging in to the plaster for your old house and the repainting required, I think it would be several hundred pounds as a minimum.

Where can they get the supply from ?
can they take it from existing sockets or will they have to go from the meter ?

Depends if it it's a ring main or another type of circuit( not sure of the name).

They could do a spur from the existing sockets but if the cables run from upstairs it could mean chasing out the walls from the ceiling down.

Other better knowledgeble people will be along shortly with Better advice for sure.

Not what you asked but maybe an extension lead with sockets for the total amount of devices you require.

    Isn't it a radial?

AFAIK, radial comes from a CU while spur comes from a ring circuit.
Radials are usually for a single high-power appliance such as hob, shower.

I believe historically old house wiring was radial, then the standards were changed to ring circuit. but i could be wrong lol

It was after the war that rings came in to save on copper wire.
