I have signed with a solicitor acting on behalf of people who were effected.
Hown much compensation can I expect. £10.  £100.  £10000...??
Any ideas.

    Possibly worse than that, the OP may have to contribute to ambulance-chasing solicitors costs if the "claim" is unsuccessful, which it probably will be.
    Also, nothing at all to do with this board so should have been posted elsewhere (or nowhere).

    You should change the passwords for all accounts where you've used the same password as your Southern Water account....assuming this is the data that was leaked.  You have suffered no direct loss as a result of what happened, so what do you want to be compensated for?
    If you were overly anxious and pulling our hair out with worry, such that you needed to pay for professional counselling, then maybe you could claim these counselling costs as compensation
