MSE Forum poll: How often do you get a takeaway for dinner?

Once or twice a monthProbably once a month, usually when my sisters visit and suggest it!
The rare occasion where I am tempted by a fat and sugar laden effortless treat, my hunger is quickly quelled by adding it to basket on one of the delivery apps, seeing the total and then thinking "Not a chance I'm paying twenty quid for a burger, some fries and a drink".
Not only do you get hit with the delivery fee, service fee, platform fee, weekend fee, fee fee, etc but they also charge more for each item than they would in the restaurant!
I envy the people that are able to pay it regularly and not care (nod to my twenty year old self or my younger sisters who get takeaway multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times per day... and then plead poverty!).
The foods also usually rubbish, very little healthy options - I'd be happy paying a premium but the restaurants just don't exist down my way. Just numerous trendy named restaurants using stock images and all coincidentally having the same address as Frankie & Benny's.Know what you don't0 -
Once or twice a monthWith good offers from one of the delivery services; it's often cheaper to collect take out than buy and make the equivalent from the supermarket plus picking up means I get some exercise to help burn off those calories..0

Less than once a monthIt's normally every few months now. We used to get one every week or two but we are trying to eat more healthily now.0

Once or twice a monthGenerally prefer to eat out than have takeaways but do occasionally, it can be 1 every couple of months or if weathers been bad or one of us has been under the weather it may be 1-2 in a month0

Less than once a monthWhen we were all WFH I used to work with youngsters who would happily have a costa deliver 2 or 3 times a day. I marvelled at their ability to spend money with so little consideration. And they would look at me with surprise if I suggested that 2 or 3 days of those payments could buy them a decent inexpensive coffee machine that would save them so much in the long run. (we had a pod machine from Aldi for £30ish)
As for ourselves we get a chinese delivered maybe once a year, fish and chips take away ever 2 months. We used to get a "tucky" every several weeks but the local KFC closed and that put a stop to it. Now that it's reopened we've had 1 bucket but the quality is not there so we're unlikely to continue.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Used to get a munchy box around 2012 which was £7 with a drink, same one now is about £14 so literally doubled yet quality and amount of food has decreased.
And that is BEFORE delivery costs, service charge, another charge. Delivery is £3.50 on average around my way for about 2 miles,
Late 2019 I used to on a Tuesday night go to a kebab shop next to my work and before discount it was £4 for a burger meal £3 with discounts and that meal is now about £7 and doesn't do discounts.0
