Whether it's because the cupboards are bare, you're too exhausted to cook, the kitchen is too much of a mess or you just fancy something special, getting a takeaway for your evening meal can be a bit of a treat.
But how regularly do you indulge? Vote in the poll and share your opinions in the thread!

Less than once a monthFriday night is takeaway night, but most often it’s a fakeaway. Home cooked or a supermarket ready meal. This week is pizza - delivered today with my groceries 😀🍕3

I never get a takeaway for dinnerMoney is too tight with all prices going sky high and businesses going under.
But I'd have scrambled eggs or something on toast. It's quicker.
And I m another who would do a ready meal. Though that is now seldom as they've got expensive too and the quality has gone down.
I worked out a long time ago that it's quicker and more pleasurable to make stuff with a radio play on than go to the shops.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Less than once a monthMaybe 5-6 times a year, never at mine, usually a curry with family. It would be curry as that is something I would struggle to cook better myself. Pizza is pointless as I could cook supermarket pizza that was better, or make it from scratch and be much better for a fraction of the price.0

A couple of times a month, usually fish & chips, or occasionally pizza.‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. The bread will sustain life, the flowers will give you a reason to live.’Frugal living in 2024.

Less than once a monthA take away in London you are looking at £10 at least per head with delivery. Most of the time more. It cost a lot. So very rare these days, a few times a year if that. Fish and Chips comes to about £13-14 in most places with delivery.0

I never get a takeaway for dinnerNo thanks - I prefer to eat out occasionally rather than spend on takeaways.. From experience with friends they seem to be far too big and usually not particularly healthy. I might use a ready meal at home from time to time but I prefer food cooked from scratch for my day to day meals.0

I think I've only had one once in the last year, too expensive to have regularly. We tend to cook a home version of Thai curry, Indian curry or stir fry and then have the leftovers as a quick and easy Friday night meal if we don't fancy cooking.0

I'm in my 60's and have never ordered a takeaway0

Once or twice a fortnightIt depends---- several times a week when away in the caravan, around twice a month when at home. First night home from holidays is usually fish and chips. Our local chip shop is very good, and I can convince myself that I've missed it, even though I probably wouldn't have gone anyway if I had been at home.0
