G24 parking fine sent to wrong address...

Hello :)

New here - joined as I know you are a very knowledgeable bunch!

I received a parking fine, which was sent to my old address.

It has pics of me overstaying by 30 minutes. I didn't realise it was only 90 min stay, as most for retail are 3 hours. Just completely slipped my mind.

Luckily the current residents let me know. However, by the time they had let me know we are past the "reduced rate" of £50.

My questions...

1) Is there anything I can do re the actual fine? I have seen many posts saying not to pay. I am scared of the stress of not paying.

2) If there isn't, will I be able to pay the reduced rate as it was sent to old address? My driving license is to this address, so it's a bit annoying really!

Thanks so much in advance

R

You can't pay the reduced rate at this stage. It's your responsibility to update your V5C, vehicle keeper details from your V5C (not your driving licence) is what DVLA give to parking firms. Have you updated this now? DVLA can fine you up to £1000 for not updating.

Read the NEWBIES Announcement thread and see post 4 THE DEBT COLLECTORS' STAGE Changed address?  Important you inform G24 DPO of your current address for service. You need to be aware and receive in a timely manner future letters.

As above,  it seems to have gone to the correct address registered at the DVLA,  so the correct address   ( but not your current address   )

You dont appear to have updated your V5c log book promptly or at all since you moved, a legal requirement upon you  ( same with your driving licence too  )

Its definitely not a fine,  just an invoice from a private parking company

Try plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements,  complaining about it to the landowner or landlord or retail park management company or business

There's nothing stressful about it. Just give them your new address - telling them to erase the old address - and then ignore them.

You must check the letters aren't a Claim Form but no need to read the £170 threatograms from debt crawlers. You won't be paying anyway.

Come back if you get a Claim Form.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
