No POPLA number as I didn't say the drivers name...what do I do now please?

Hello, I appealed a parking fine and didn't name the driver. Parkingeye sent me a letter back with no Popla verification code.
Within the letter was alot of threatening about me being responsible anyway. If I don't say the name of the driver than they will take action against me etc.
My question is....what do I do now please? Do I reply and ask for a popla number? Or just wait until they send me one? It's my family member that's involved so I'm extra panicky about this. I dont want the charge to double if I do end up having to pay it, whilst I wait.
Can anyone offer advice please, or have been in this situation with Parkingeye? Thankyou.

Presumably the appeal is on hold pending you possibly revealing who was driving ?
If you dont give them the drivers details, then they should issue a popla code in a couple of weeks time
So either ignore and wait for the popla code, OR, throw the family member under the bus, by giving their details1 -
Can you show us the front and back of the original Notice to Keeper from PE, redact any personal and vehicle details, but leave all dates showing please.Where did the parking event take place? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Whether the driver is named or not and whether or not they wish transfer liability is entirely the prerogative of the RK.OR, throw the family member under the bus,I always say wait until the Letter of Claim if you wish to do this. The parking company is sent down a snake all the way back to start. And if they were daft enough to make a claim you merely have to explain you have no liability.2
