PIP Timeline

Just wondered if anyone could give me an idea of how long they waited once their PIP application was submitted?
I initially had an application deadline of 25th July but asked for 3 extensions as I was finding it really hard to complete the form. I posted it on Wednesday 10th September and I was just wondering how long others have waited to hear anything.
Many thanks

You will get a text once DWP have received it onto their system, can take upto 2 weeks to reach that point.
Once they have confirmed receipt of your claim it will go off to one of the companies that deal with your claim. They will then contact you to arrange either a face to face meeting or a phone call or if really lucky just do a paper assessment.
A quick google seems to be around 3 months for the process. But as ever it depends on each part of the process.
Good news is that if you get approved for PIP, the payment is backdated to start date of claim.Life in the slow lane1 -

Yes I forgot to say that I was sent occasional text messages telling me they were still dealing with my claim. I received 4 or 5 in the 15 months I had to wait. I'm assuming there is a big backlog of applications for them to look at.2
