Electricity tariff

I have economy 7 heating and my current electricity tariff ends 31st October 2025. Exit fee £25.

Are electricity tariffs likely to go up or down again before 31st October?

I have had a look and can change my tariff now for a more expensive one (+9%) to start from 1st November 2025.

Yes tariffs (fixed rate) will go up in anticipation of the cold winter.  But then they'll fall when the winter turns out to be warmer than expected.  That's what my crystal ball says anyway.
Interest rates will hold steady.  Don't believe the fake news about cuts before Christmas

No one knows whether fixed prices a month or two from now will be slightly higher or slightly lower than now. Given the way that wholesale prices are bobbing around within a fairly narrow range, it does not seem likely that there will be any particularly sharp moves in either direction - however events could quickly change that.

I'd hang on to the cheaper deal until the end - that sounds what you intend to do anyway - but whether you lock in a new deal now or wait in case you can get a slightly better one nearer the time, that is up to you. Some providers would be happy to let you change if a cheaper deal comes along before the start date.

As you're on E7, the best tariff and supplier will depend to a great extent on how your energy use is split between day and night rates.
Do you know how much electricity (how many kWh) you've used on each of those rates in the last 12 months?
