State Pendion confusion

Martin's discussion today about Aoril 2026 pension increase refers to the maximum full state pension of £230.25 pw. I'm paid 4-weekly and get £961.40. Multiplying this by 13 gives £12,498pa, which is £240.35 pw. My HMRC app confirms my pension as £12,498 - can anyone explain the reason i get more than the maximum?

Do you have some extra pension earned under the old SERPS/S2P schemes?0

Good question, but how do I tell? I started receiving it when I reached 66 in 2021. I think it's the new pension.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:

Which basically means you had already accrued more than the standard new State Pension in 2016 and were allowed to keep the excess.
Although only the standard amount gets the triple lock increase.0 -
To derive a weekly value from a four-weekly one, it would generally be simpler to divide by four rather than multiplying by 13 and dividing by 52!whadya_say? said:I'm paid 4-weekly and get £961.40. Multiplying this by 13 gives £12,498pa, which is £240.35 pw.0 -
But I bet the OP had more fun doing those sums in their head.eskbanker said:
