    If people don't have much apart from the LGPS pension, maybe didn't have anything before starting the job later in life, they may want to know that when they actually stop the pension will be enough to cover their outgoings.
    Also I don't think taking the LGPS triggers the MPA as it's a DB scheme?

    Google says that the MPA is not triggered by the LGPS, but that seems unfair; are there any differences with dependants receiving payment upon death?
