Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start. After a gloomy and showery day yesterday with more rain overnight, it started off fairly bright this morning but things are already deteriorating into a very wet and gusty day. Temps falling (again) to daytime highs of just 13 deg and 11 deg overnight - not much difference then!
I spent some time last night watching the hedgehog visitor that seems to come regularly now; must be rich pickings out there!
I had a chilled out day yesterday and found some fairy lights I quite like the look of so will order those today. Normally I'd do a click & collect but I'm also ordering an early Xmas present for DS A and his DP L that needs delivering (from the same retailer) so it will be a home delivery. I say "early" present because it's something they can make use of now, plus they won't be here for the festive season. Instead, they will be in Brazil which is where L is originally from and they'll be visiting some of her family for 3 weeks. DS has been using Duolingo to learn Portuguese in readiness but is not looking forward to the long flight although he does enjoy visiting foreign parts. I'll miss them of course but I hope they have a good time.
Nothing exciting on the cards for today, just the usual indoor stuff. Given the dire weather, I'm pleased I don't need to go anywhere. The postman has already been (junk mail day), communal cleaners are due this afternoon and I'm hoping last week's missed recycling bins might be emptied today. Only two items out of the freezer today - a tub of bolognaise sauce for tomorrow and a couple of hash browns for tonight that I'll be having with breaded halloumi sticks and some salad - but every little bit out helps!
@AA - Glad you enjoyed Yorkshire and I wish you luck with your new reading glasses; sometimes stronger lenses take a bit of getting used to, although a headache after a short time wearing them doesn't sound quite right.
@TA: You have a busy day in store! Enjoy the CB hash.
@Chrisca - Happy hairdo. I still haven't found a new hairdresser and it's now 15 weeks since I had a trim, a far cry from the usual 8 weeks. Shades of lockdown!
@Coxy - Sorry to hear your DH isn't feeling well, fingers crossed it's just a temporary blip.
@WL - Hope your visit to MK will be a dry one!
Right, coffee break over so it's back to the routine. Healing wishes for the poorly ones, take care all and stay dry if you can. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
