Morning, thanks Gers.
It's rained here overnight. Yesterday was a cold wet day, what a contrast to the weather we've had over the summer.
We weren't out at all, didn't need anything. I'll go out this morning though, to pick a parcel up, and visit my old friend this afternoon.
Dh was in the loft again yesterday, clearing stuff and tidying. It's tiring him out though, he'll have a quiet day today.
I haven't read back over the last couple of days yet, hope everyone is all right.
I'll pop back later.12 -
Hi all
I’m back, lovely couple of weeks in the glorious Yorkshire Dales with some nice weather and a lot of rain! The latter just makes the waterfalls better 😂. Actually came back a day early to avoid any high winds and gusts on the motorway.DD had a new router while I was away so spent some time reconnecting everything last night - so many things that need WiFi these days. Think I’ve just got my laptop and the Kindles to do.Need to speak to the opticians , I had new reading glasses and I get a headache after 20 minutes of wearing them. When I picked them up I said that they felt too ‘strong’ (if that’s a thing!) so we’ll see what they say.Hope everyone is ok - I have been reading along but will catch up this week (going away again next week 🫢)

Morning folks. It's wet and wild out there but, as yet, not quite as wild as I was expecting. There's still time! It's forecast to be like this all day so I'm pleased I have nowhere to go.
Today I have promised myself it will be a batch cooking day. First the Corned Beef Hash I have been longing for, leaving a portion out for my dinner. Then Sausage Casserole, Chilli and Shepherds Pie bases. It will all have to go in the small freezer until there is more room in the tall freezer.
Have a good day folks whatever you are up to with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe.x

Morning allThe wind is going to be very strong today. Shame as I've got some bedding to put out but it'll have to go on the airer as I think it would be blown away outside.Nothing planned today except hairdresser is coming today. She had to cancel last week as she was ill. I'll look less like a shaggy dog when she's finished!Have a good day all xx10

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
DH isn’t well and won’t be going to work today. Think in the 36 years I’ve known him this is only the third day he’s taken, so must be bad. He started with a temperature and shivers on Saturday night and spent yesterday dozing apart from the two hours at ILs. Bath and early night and now a bad headache. I’ve just taken him up some water and codeine. This means I’ll be taking DS1’s pooch home today instead of DH dropping him off, before (quietly) helping DS2 build his new desk. I’m also viewing a house with DSis and BIL later. It’s a ‘project’ and has an annexe which may be suitable for Mum. Just need to have that conversation…..
Hope @snoozers ankle has improved and @IzzyBee’s feet are getting better x
Good to see you @AlwaysAllie and glad you had a good time away. Let’s hope the optician can sort the glasses out - that doesn’t sound right. Where are you off to next week?
Have a good day everyone

Morning again - all ready to face the damp and windy day. I'm not going to exercise class today as I've got a telephone appointment with GP right in the middle of it. To make up I've already done some the stuff upstairs and will do some more after coffee.I need to take a return parcel to the delivery office, I inadvertently ordered two of a thing when it already came as a pair, and that's about all on the plan. My fridge has enough in it so no shopping needed.
England and Wales look to be under a yellow weather warning so I hope that everyone can stay dry and not float away. Hugs to all.9 -
Morning everyone I’m going to meet up with my friend this morning for a coffee and a catch up it’s windy and starting to rain I won’t be going far when I get back it has to be a bit better tomorrow we are hoping for better weather next week as we are going up to Northumberland for a week although I don’t think there will be a lot of walking done this time but it will be nice to get away and relax and plenty of places we can visit in the car . TA my freezers are full of meals and I’ve got 3 weeks worth of soup in there for lunches it makes life so much easier just leek and potato and veg but not bad out of a Lidl veg box for £1.50 and a bowl of peaches apples and oranges. My son brought me a bag of cooking apples and a dozen sticks of rubarb yesterday someone at his running club had give him so that’s all stewed and frozen nothing gets wasted in here . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all. The sun is out atm but we have strong winds forecast and bouts of rain.
Just having my second cup of tea and then I have a decision to make between doing the ironing or making a cake!
We are having our main meal at lunchtime today as have tickets for a guided walk regarding the history of central Milton Keynes this evening.
I hope everyone's ailments are improving and @Coxy11's DH isn't too poorly; always a worry.10 -
Good morning from stormy Mehefinland
It was blowing so hard last night I though I was going to lose the roof - I didn't, but it was certainly concerning at the time. Rain squalls are viscious, but strangely it was warmer outside in the rain than it was in the house last night.
Having had multiple soakings I had to put the heating on for half an hour to dry out a bit. Blooming thing came on by itself this morning , so the temperature must have dropped a lot overnight.
@WickedLady4 Thanks for explaining the differences in the Morris Dancer set up. Never realised that it was so diverse. There used to be a troupe of Welsh cloggers going around the local pubs some years ago, but I don't know if they still exist. Their performances were always a bit of a spectacle, lots of vigour! We ,of course, get the Mari Llwyd, although the old girl sticks to the local market town now - there are more pubs
Off on a hunt for some suitable shoes for my to and froing to the field - I had a wet foot ,and investigation showed that the whole sole had cracked right across the ball of my foot! Now in the bin as irretrievable.
Hugs and spoons as always. Stay safe in this horrendous weather

Morning all, wet & wild. I got soaked dogwalking and tried to stay away from some of the old trees on the park just in case.We sheltered by the side of an old wall at one point as the rain was horizontal.Nothing planned today really. I cooked some mince on Friday and froze it, might get it out for a shepherds pie if I have enough spuds - I'll check in a minute. Enjoy your hash TA.I have to confess to putting the heating back on for an hour or two. DH is feeling the cold in the house with him not being fully mobile yet. The timer needs altering though as we're not getting up as early as we did when he was working. Hope DH feels better soon @Coxy11Well done on your bulk cooking @IzzyBee Hope everyone stays safe today.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
