Coop Bank Worldwide Travel Insurance price hike

I recently had the letter from Rock Insurance Services to renew our Medical Assessment for the Coop Worldwide Travel Insurance (with AXA). Last year my husband's extra for his medical assessment was zero and mine was £36, this year with everything the same except we are both a year older (71 and 74) the cost has risen to £36 for my husband and £126 for mine, plus the monthly subscription increased from £15 initial cost to £18 part way through the last 12 months! Has anyone else got the same thing and had such a huge increase?
Neither of us has anything major wrong with us, but we have booked a holiday so need to get the insurance. I want to be able to continue to go on cruises but at this rate we won't be able to afford to do so.

The Co-op price rise from £15 to £18 came about several months ago - all account holders received ample notice.Same price as the Aviva travel insurance monthly fee on the Nationwide FlexPlus account - £18 for a joint account which covers both parties.Looks like the Co-op are just catching up with market forces ?We changed to the Aviva policy in February as their upper age limit of 80 years is no longer in effect - any additional fees are based solely on medical issues. We are still well short of that age limitation - but as our Co-op policy had this restriction a change was worth looking at.The OP might want to give Aviva a call and enquire what likely additional fees would apply based on their pre-existing medical conditions - you can do this before committing to the Nationwide account, so you can walk away if the deal is unattractive.Their number is 0800 0512 532.0

No charge with Co-op
Nationwide site says you can do a quote online for your pre ex no mention of a phone number

It's also the general enquiries number of their paperwork when you receive a list of their contact details to take on travels.
