Sorry to hear about your tumble @snoozer but glad the staff were accommodating - no chair though??!! Take it easy. Your comment about Joni Mitchell made me chuckle!!

Afternoon, Snoozer, poor you, hope your ankle gets better soon.
Very overcast, rain forecast for this afternoon before the winds tomorrow.
I've had a productive morning, bedding changed and the apples stewed down, didn't get done yesterday. Changing the bedding is my most hated job of all, and while OH offers to do it, from experience I have to redo it after. I know they say practice makes perfect, but after 52 years I dont think hes going to improve. Still at least hes good at diy, which I'm not.
Pork loin steaks for dinner, with roasties and veg.
Forgot to say, I really enjoyed Last night of the Proms, thought it was one of the best.
Have a good day, take care.7 -
Good afternoon all, thanks @TA for starting us off today. I'm another one who's had a lie in this morning but it is Slothful Sunday after all!
Yesterday's weather was very changeable with several heavy showers, especially overnight, and today looks as if it will be the same. Top temps expected to be just 15 deg.
This week I've had the heating on for an hour or so in the mornings but have now set the timer for an additional quick boost midday and another one for the evening. Looking back at previous bills, it was about this time last year when it went on so it's par for course.
Daily jobs done, the rest of the day is my own to do as I wish. After my late start, breakfast morphed into brunch (scrambled eggs on toast) and dinner will be cottage pie. Maybe a small snack later this afternoon. Some time this week (if the weather obliges) I have a couple of things to take to the CS and will be on the look out for some jigsaws to do during the winter days.
@Gers - I'll send our council grass cutters to do your grass - they always seem to do the cutting in the pouring rain!
@TA - It is hard getting the shopping/cooking adjusted to being a singleton, isn't it? I think I'm getting there - slowly!
@Izzy - Glad to hear you're taking it a bit easier - keep it up!
@Coxy - When I was expecting my second child, I went off potatoes in any shape or form and even now I can take them or leave them.
@snoozer - I hope your ankle turns out to be nothing more than sore for a little while. It's a shame the store couldn't find a chair for you to sit on while you were waiting to be picked up though.
Right, I'm off now to have a browse for some fairy lights for you-know-when. I'm looking for a curtain-type string of them to brighten up a bare wall in the living room. Enjoy what's left of the weekend and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Ouch SNOOZER i hope you have a speedy recovery.
Shopping all done and put away. A rather expensive one this time as a lot to stock back up on. I spotted tins of corned beef on my way round and couldn't remember last time I bought any. Then all my way round I couldn't get Corned Beef Hash out of my mind so went back for a tin. Not the healthiest of meals but once in a while won't harm I'm sure! X

Stay safe in the winds due later and hugs to all who want them
