Thanks @TA - I've been lingering upstairs doing little chores, having a not so leisurely shower and generally surveying my 'world'. No swallows, plenty of sheep and loads of noisy geese. For no known reason I slept really long and didn't wake properly until nearly 8.00a.m. Now I'm clean, oiled and enjoying my first coffee.Saturday was another wash-out. Short, sharp and harsh showers with intervals of almost sunshine. I forgot about the farmer's market which annoyed me for a few moments
when I realised this morning. I packed more stuff for the CS and textile dump, decided to not check the final drawer and then spent the day listening to my new book whilst doing a lot of idle pottering. Looking fiercely at the garden failed to persuade the grass to suddenly cut itself in the pouring rain.
Today will be even more whimsical - there's plenty in the fridge and things to get on with. I hope that all are well, hugs all round.9 -
Morning folks, again! It's a lovely start here, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. All is calm before the promised gales that are due to arrive this evening. I popped the heating on when I got up for the first time this Autumn. It felt quite chilly.
It's back to the Supermarket Sweep with DS this morning. I've not had a proper supermarket shop for 3 weeks so it will be a big shop this morning to replenish both the fridge and the stores. Sadly the freezer still has a way to go. And the small freezer is still on with the overflow so I need to address that too. I don't think it will ever hit me that I'm no longer feeding a family.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

I'm here: up and doing the first load of laundry. Have just checked the weather forecast and we should be ok until lunchtime so will go and hang it out in a minute.
Will be doing the ironing in a while then looking for a couple of pairs of casual trousers for DGS as I have a money off voucher. Other than that I'm going to watch the women's rugby on tv and cheer on England in their match v Scotland. Off to a pub music session this evening and that's about it!
Happy Sunday everyone.9 -
Morning everyone I didn’t get up until 8 I was awake but just laid there keeping warm and enjoying the peace I’m going to hang the washing out soon it will get it’s chance it’s supposed to stay dry until lunch time I always think it dries quicker if you have to bring it in and it’s had a bit of a blow . Well I must admit I’m still hobbling but I’m hobbling a lot better and as much as I hate them I have worn my support socks everyday and my ankles have definitely reduced a bit and I’ve made a point of putting my feet up for half an hour every day although it’s like living with a two year old when I do it as hubby is constantly asking if I have done this or that or will I be doing it later he said the other day are we having a cuppa before you put your feet up or later I said whenever you want because you are making it to which I got next time you are at the doctors you want to mention your moods but he made the cuppa I wasn’t moving. I need to pop out for yogurt today I didn’t need much yesterday but I forgot my note and that was on it . Well that’s the washer stopped therese a little roast beef joint in the oven I will do veg and Yorkshire puddings later I made 8 tubs of leek and potato soup yesterday and 8 vegetables ones that will do me for lunch for a couple of weeks it’s to cold for salad now I also made four shepherds pies and 6 tubs of meatball’s although my youngest son pincher two of them all frozen now so that’s a good help . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all and thanks for the start @TravellingAbuela x
I've been up a while sorting DS1's dog who is here for the weekend as they are in Prague. DD said she'd dogsit (at ours because she lives here!) and then both her and DS2 got invited out to a party. I don't mind - grand furbaby is very cute and absolutely no trouble.
We are off to the ILs this afternoon. MIL, BIL and my birthday in the past 10 days so a multiple celebration/gathering. Not sure what the weather is doing but it's turned a bit nippy these past few days. We are resisting putting the heating on just yet.
Dinner last night was SC gammon in cola, with cabbage from the allotment that I'd shredded and frozen prior to our holiday. I also did some new potatoes in the air fryer and they were gorgeous. DH doesn't much care for potatoes but he loved them, so our new gadget is already earnings it's keep. We will just have toasties later when we get home as expect there will be a full on spread at IL's house including cake.
Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone,
I'm incapacitated, I took a tumble down some stairs at Sainsbury's on Friday and have hurt my ankle. I lay on the half landing thinking what do I do now. Eventually an old gent came and went to get someone. They were very kind and one even picked Steve up to drive me home. Unbelievably they didn't have a chair to offer me and I had to sit on the stairs till Steve got there.
I heard my ankle click but don't think I've done anything too drastic, it's annoying because Steve's sister is down for a few days. She's going with Steve to a Joni Mitchell tribute concert at the Stables in MK. As Joni Mitchell's voice affects me like chalk on a blackboard I'm not going.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all, it's gone a bit dull now but was ok when I took Lenny out. We walked up the road to the park with a lady who does dog sitting, she has the same spaniel every weekend. They had a good sniff at each other and walked up wagging tails happily, we parted at the top of the road. The park was busy with lots of dogs, running groups and a football match on the far side, just before 9am!I did post very late last night to say thanks for all the 50th anniv. wishes. We had a nice day, lots of messages, cards etc. and a warm welcome back from DGS football team supporters - 1st time back since hubbys op. Any more elaborate celebrations will have to wait until DH is fully mobile!Tea tonight is a tapas kinda thing, bits and bobs. Have a lovely Sunday.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9
