On holiday when salary sacrifice ends

I want to book a holiday for next year. Unfortunately the dates of the planned holiday mean I will be away when my SS scheme ends. I will be ordering a new vehicle before the agreement ends. Either another SS vehicle or buying one outright. Are you allowed to extend a SS agreement by one week with Lex if I am not going to be in the country? Will this mean I will owe another whole month of payments if they allow this?

No idea how your scheme works but at the end of a lease you typically agree the handover date which won't be the exact anniversary and might be several weeks after.

Likely you'll be offered the chance to extend the lease a little longer too - some will allow you to informally extend month by month because your new car might have a delivery that extends many months due to supply issues.  Alternatively you can normally negotiate a longer extension to the lease.

Whatever way you look at it, it's all extra profit for the lease company.  Sounds like you have plenty of time to arrange something.

    Talk to them!

The other alternative is to just book different dates for your holiday...

Changing the dates of the holiday is not possible. The holiday in question is only available in May. Will contact Lex tomorrow to check.

If only there were some way of managing this online https://www.lexautolease.co.uk/help-and-support/end-of-contract.html

I would suggest just booking the swap after you come back from your holiday… less to have to worry about.

Thanks but you can’t do with salary sacrifice. So the sarcasm is uncalled for.  I used to lease with Lex and could do that. The employer is actually the person leasing it, that’s why.

Have you spoken to Lex and asked them what your employer needs to do or alternatively have you spoken to your employer?  If not then you're going to have to make your car ready for collection before you go on holiday.

    Then speak to your employer!

They may be the one doing the leasing but you're still the one paying for it and kindly reducing their NI contributions...
