This problem appears to be ongoing for 5 days now with a payment made from YBS to a 3rd party over a week ago which I learned was never received. So I can't login to even check if the payment bounced.
I've tried ringing them 3 times and gave up after 30 minutes of hanging on. I've tried their chat bot, but all that happens there is I go round in circles. I finally got to chat to a human by this means who told me that they couldn't help me and required me to ring the same number as before, so more circles.
What I'm seeing on my screen is this :- https://imgur.com/3XGpPAD, which isn't the normal screen I'd see if I make a typo entering details.
They used to be such a good organisation to deal with only a few years ago should a problem ever arise. If you phoned them you always seemed to get through within 5 minutes. Sadly, not any more since they've gone down the road that all the major banks seem to have adopted of creating obstacles when you need to speak to a person.

I have Chromium as well as Firefox, and the same error shows up on both browsers as well as Linux and Windows platforms. It also shows if I click the link at the bottom of the page - 'Having trouble logging in'.
I'll just have to travel to my nearest branch (4 miles away) on Monday and try to sort things out from there. But since I've now wasted hours on this issue only because I could not get to speak to someone on the phone, plus their utterly useless, chat bot, time-wasting !!!!, I think I've arrived at the point when it's time to close my accounts down with them.
It's a pity, but YBS have gone right down the drain with their customer service in my estimation, and it wasn't that long ago when I wouldn't have had to deal with any of this crap.

I did that several times. None of this makes any sense. Until 5 days ago I've never had an issue logging in to YBS over the 5 years or so I've been with them. I've just tried logging in to a few other financial accounts I use, eg Nationwide, Paypal, Co-op Bank, and no issues with them.

The only thing I can think of is that they've suspended my account, but then I'd expect to see a message of that kind. They did this before when I once managed to do a typo 3 times logging in.  At the moment I'm getting an error just after typing my customer number and DoB, which is ridiculous. Even pasting my customer no. from a database I use to store this type of thing doesn't work any longer.

Strangely enough this started after a payment I made from YBS to a 3rd party failed. So wondering now if this issue is connected to that.

Just checked and Firefox was still broken for me.
Cleared YBS cookies - same problem.

Turned my Ad blocker AdblockPlus off for the following websites:-
    online.ybs.co.uk savings.ybs.co.uk
and I can log into YBS as normal.  :)

Thnx ctdctd. You've got this. The problem arises with Firefox. It won't work at all with the login, at least not on my PC. With Chromium I have to disable the adblocker (which I've not had to do before, nor should I need to). Clearly there's an issue with their login page. After I logged in I emailed them about this, so we'll see how YBS respond.
  • Was signed into YBS yesterday, Chrome/W11 and AdBlockPlus running.

Do you really mean that you are using Chromium or is it Chrome? The two are related, similar but different.
