Morning folks. It's currently fine here with blue sky but rain is forecast for later. Yesterday turned out better than like, we got away with just a few spits and spots of rain. But it seems to get chillier day by day. So far I have refrained from putting the heating on in the mornings but I don't think that will last much longer.. At least I have built the credit back up a bit over the summer months.
I'm a latecomer this morning as I got sidetracked with the wardrobe. I thought it was time I got my fleecy pj's and chunky dressing gown out of storage. Some summer nighties and pj's I haven't worn in ages are destined for the cs bag, along with a few skirts, tops and jumpers that have lived in the wardrobe unworn for too long. I have accumulated quite a lot of spare coat hangers so I must be heading in the right direction!
I am still trying my best to get freezer stocks down too, then I can do some batch cooking of warming winter meals. And soup making will soon be back on the agenda too. I am hankering after some pea and ham soup as I speak!
Have a good day folks if you can, with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx

Thanks @Gers for starting us off and good morning to all. The weather is getting predictable with yet another day of sunshine and showers, currently dry but cloudy although I can see some strips of blue sky.
@Rosy - I hope you and your DH had a happy (if quiet) anniversary.
@Scarlet - Brilliant idea for lowering things from the loft and no, you're not being boring at all. I love hearing about what people are up to on a day to day basis.
I bit the bullet yesterday to take a walk to the Co-op and managed to dodge the rain. Got the three items I wanted - a TV guide, a lighter (for the shoebox where I keep candles in case of power cuts) and my monthly treat of flowers - plus two items from the reduced section - a jar of posh apricot conserve and a body spray. I didn't get around to reporting the dodgy heating control, thanks to a very long queue of calls, but did manage an online request to have our recycling bins emptied asap after they were missed on Thursday. Phone catch up with DS, TV in the evening and that was about my day. Oh, and dispensed with yet another spider that thought it might take up residence in the kitchen sink.
I've noticed a bit of black mould appearing around the window in the small bedroom so will attack that today and check all the other windows whilst I'm at it. Better dealt with now rather than let it build up. Windows are open for ventilation but it's probably time for some background heating too.Still on track with running the freezer down, with today's main meal being Thai green chicken curry & rice and a portion of cooked mince & veg defrosting for a cottage pie for tomorrow.
Have a good weekend all, hope it's not too wet and soggy to spoil any plans! Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Afternoon All
Late one from me.
Happy Golden anniversary Rosy hope you both had a lovely day.
Well done Scarlett on loft sorting and Yorkslass and TA on freezer running down
I have managed all our meals from the freezer this week except a naughty treat from the butchers for tonight, would have been rude not to.
Popped out to BQ this morning and got caught in a shower. Picked up a tester pot for the kitchen to try and some cards to see what we fancy for the lounge.
Finished my first crochet bag project yesterday have wrapped for DGD birthday tomorrow hoping she likes it.
More rain on the way, stay save hugs to all who want them.

@WickedLady4 Can you enlighten me please? I have been getting a lot of Morris dancing popping up on my FB feed, which I have enjoyed, but I am puzzled. I always associate it with men( and women) with kerchiefs, bells etc , but I can't help notice that so many of the teams have outfits which look like they are made up of strips of rag. Is this a new trend, am I missing something? Not really important, just piqued my inquisitive side.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Evening folks, a very late one from me but wanted to say thanks for all the anniversary wishes. Lots of lovely cards and messages to respond to . We had a nice meal with the steaks I bought yesterday. Bit dear but what the heck
We did manage to get out to watch DGS football and had a warm welcome back from the parents/grandparents this morning. DH sat in a dugout while it rained but then leaned on a barrier once it dried up, and managed ok. He's keen to get doing more walks too. Right it's time for bed, so bye for now.
