Countertop dishwashers

Hi. Does anyone have any experience of countertop dishwashers, especially ones with a water tank that don’t need to be plumbed in? How well do they actually work? I am getting a bit ground down by the constant washing up and was wondering if something like this would suit me? Any recommendations? Yay or nay? Thanks in advance!

They work great but a lot of dinner plates don't fit them well so check the maximum plate size.
    They're also quite noisy.
Mine was the bog standard one that's comes in lots of brands in different colours and looked like an old TV.

  • I bought a Comfee brand one from Amzn. It’s honestly changed my life! & it does actually fit full sized plates. It has a tank that takes four jugs (jug was supplied) of water (6ltrs) & does a brilliant job. I can usually fit a day’s worth of dishes, cups & cutlery/utensils in it. Big pans have to be hand washed but there’s usually only a couple.

Mine is right next to the sink so it drains straight into the sink basin. The hose is well secreted so isn’t obtrusive. The only downside of it is it can sometimes be noisy, with a high pitched buzzing noise but it subsides after a few minutes usually.
  • I read some reviews that indicated they have a lifespan of around 2-4 years. At that price, that is too short. Plus I barely have any space in my kitchen area.

I don’t usually recommend buying a warranty, but Amazon will sell a five year warranty for around £45. That seems reasonable if you’re convinced that these break down after 2 to 4 years. You need to understand the small print though. I don’t suppose that they would give you a new machine if it breaks down after 4 years, but I have not checked.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
