How to play:

 Make your predictions.


The game launches on 12 September – the day before the first athletics final in Tokyo - and runs through to the final day of the programme on 21 September.


As soon as the start list of a final is published, you will be able to select who you think will win the gold, silver and bronze medals.


Our computer has calculated the chance each athlete has of winning, based on their past 30 performances. Athletes with a lower chance of winning earn the highest points - so will you take a risk or play it safe?


Points win prizes


You will earn points for each athlete that you correctly predict on the podium. Double points will be awarded if you get them in the right order!


The more you play, the more points you can earn to climb the leaderboard and be in with a chance to win prizes including a trip to the World Athletics Ultimate Championship Budapest 2026, tickets to the Ultimate Championship, signed merchandise and World Athletics goodie bags.


Wild cards:


Every time you place a prediction on any final, you’ll automatically be entered into a draw to win exclusive World Athletics prizes.


At the end of the competition, a final draw will take place, with the winner receiving tickets to the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26.

Predictor Game - terms and conditions

• The Predictor Game is subject to our Competition Terms: https://worldathletics.org/terms-and-conditions  and the terms below.
• Players must enter between 07:00 pm CEST Friday 12th September and the end of the final session of the athletics programme of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 on Sunday 21st September. The final session is currently scheduled to be the Men’s 4x100m Relay.  
• To join, access and submit predictions to the Predictor Game all players must have and sign into their free World Athletics Account.  
• The timetable of the athletics programme of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 may change. If there is a change to the timetable, we reserve the right to cancel the competition or change these competition terms. 
• To win points players must correctly predict the Gold, Silver and Bronze/ 1, 2 , 3 positions in the relevant finals/rounds/heats of the discipline scheduled to be held during the athletics programme of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025. 
• The chances of earning points reduces as the actual athletics competition programme of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 progresses session by session / day by day.  
• After the final session on the final day of competition of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025, the top ten (10) players with the highest scoring points on the published Leaderboard will, subject to these competition terms, be entitled to win the relevant prize for that position.
• If a player is in equal position with equal points to another player(s) the player who registered for the Predictor Game first will be selected to win the prize available for that position.

• There are no joint positions in the Predictor Game. If a player has equal points to another player(s) in the Top 10 the player who registered for the Predictor Game first will be selected to win the prize allocated to that position in the Top 10. The player who is not selected for prize allocated to that position shall move down to the next position in the Predictor Game, if the player that has moved down to the next position is still within the Top 10 they will receive a prize allocated to their new position in the Top 10.
• First prize is subject to further eligibility requirements set out in the Competition Terms: paragraph 10 above. 
• The winners will be notified by email after the final day of competition of the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 and by no later than 12th October 2025 with further information on how to claim / collect their prize. 
• By playing a final in the Predictor Game, the user is automatically entered into a draw to win the daily prize of an item of World Athletics mechandise. Each final played earns the user one entry into draw. The winner of each daily draw will be notified by email within 48 hours of the end of that day’s competition and it’s Wild Card draw. Winners will be automatically excluded from subsequent daily draws. No player can win more than one draw.
• Distribution of physical prizes for the other winning positions will be advised at the time of notification and to the Competition Terms, paragraph 11 above.  
• All intellectual property (including results data, statistics) arising in the Predictor Game is the exclusive ownership of World Athletics. To the fullest extent possible by law all participants transfer any intellectual property rights arising from and in their predictions in the Predicator Game.  
• World Athletics reserves the right in its sole discretion to discontinue the entire Predictor Game or disqualify any player, if for any reason it reasonably believes that there is or has been any manipulation of any type in the Predictor Game.
