Smart Parking fine

Hello I have scoured the forums about this and there’s A LOT of info, it’s quite overwhelming but basically I inputted 2 letters when getting my ticket, the sun was blazing off the machine I didn’t even know until the ticket came out tbh that I’d done that as I had typed my reg in the machine fully. I didn’t even know it was an ANPR parking lot either so I wrote my reg on the ticket incase someone came and checked it. I paid the money and was well within the time limit but I’ve obviously had a parking charge fine!
I kept the ticket incase something was going to happen so I have the proof.

I’m obviously going to contest it!

Any tips I should know before I do this?

TIA 🙂

  • It isn't a "fine" it's a parking charge from a bunch of unregulated scammers.
Where was this and which dimwits sent you the charge?
Have you read the newbies thread on here yet?
  • The company is called smart parking, it was in the Manchester area. I did try and search the newbies thread as I seen a lot of people talking about it but a lot of stuff comes up. Do you have the link please?
    Thanks

You didn't. The machine did. Watch the video:

Appeal as keeper stating that full payment was made and the driver put in the correct VRM details,  and the faulty machine caused any errors,  a common and widely known problem,  adding a copy of the ticket as proof of full payment , so the alleged breach is denied

**NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!

There is only one NEWBIE thread, it looks like this ^^^ and you say you have already read it.  It is one of the announcements on the first page of the forum.  There are four posts in that thread and the first post is about taking initial action upon receipt of a PCN, followed by the second post which is about letter before claim and claim form.
