Don't really want to move the washing.machine location due to plumbing
Think I'll go for plain washing machine and fridge with ice draw1 -
I understand all the washer-dryer hate, but I'd still get one. We used to have one in our old house, and it was useful when we needed some specific item - sports kit etc - to be washed and dried and the weather wasn't cooperative. Once you accept that they can only dry a few bits, not a full load, they're fine.0

We have a separate washer and drier but we only use the drier in an emergency (e.g. PE kit, football kit, school uniform that we forgot to wash). Otherwsie we use a clothes airer and dehumidifier or hang outside. The dehumidifier has been our weapon of choice for over 10 years; it helps reduce condensation and mould, is quieter than a drier and cheaper to run, and takes up hardly any space. The only downside is that of course it takes longer to dry clothes, but a bit of planning is all it takes. You can also get mini fridges or freezers that can go on a counter top if that's an option0

ours uses 0.7kw to do a 9kg load so 20p isnt much to me and if you were on a rate with discounted night electricity it would be 6p.
This seems very low.
Consensus from google/AI, is that a full load, even in a heat pump type, will cost about 50p.

We do have a 1,600 RPM washer though so clothes come out substantially drier than our old 1,300 machine which may also go towards explaining the low energy consumption on the drier.
Looking at its self reported consumption our average use is 0.4kw per load but the Mrs does have a habit of doing small loads0
