Is it possible to cancell a House Insurance policy at 11.59 and then renew with the same company the following day?

It is theoretically possible.  You need to talk with the company in question.
  • Might cause difficulties if lightning strikes at exactly midnight.

what are you trying to achieve?

  • Cover greater than 60 days. Currently companies are charging quite a high premium for this.

Greater than 60 days unoccupied? Wouldnt work as you'll still have been out the home for more than 60 days even if you break it over two policies.

There are some providers that provide 90 days as standard, M&S (Aviva) certainly did at last check. Its likely to be cheaper when its standard because the majority of customers won't actually be leaving their property that long whereas someone who explicitly requests it will be so prices are higher as the risk is real
