Morning again, it's dark and damp out there. Last night we had more rain than we've had for months, it was badly needed. My backyard 'garden' is looking bedraggled but I'll get out later and see what I can do. Things aren't looking too good out the front either, but some stuff was dying back anyway. Time for a good tidy!
I see you're getting the thick tights out Gers, it's a bad sign! It'll soon be winter drawers on. I'm resistng the urge to wear gloves before the end of October.
Happy birthday for yesterday Coxy, hope you had a nice day.
Mehefin, sorry to hear that your little cat is on her final journey, hope she slips away peacefully.
Hope you're feeling better today Camelot.
We are going out today, a friend is taking us to Corbridge in Northumberland. It was a favourite place of the lovely lady who was his wife and our dear friend. She passed away three years ago and he had never been there since so we are going today. It'll be a nice day out.
Thoughts to the sad and poorly people, take care folks.

Morning allSunny out there at the moment. Expecting a few showers during day though.Just had a parcel delivered and he told me one of the windows in my car was open. How I maanged to leave it open I do not know. A senior moment? Soggy seat and mat now!Nothing planned today apart from housework except I'm in the middle of sorting us out a big holiday for next year and hopefully get it all confirmed and booked today.Have a good day all x12

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons enjoy your day out x
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. We had a good day out and managed to snag a bargain in a charity shop - 4 x Bohemia crystal champagne glasses which match the two remaining from our wedding list 28 years ago. Bargain at only £1.50 each. Dinner with the adult children was also lovely. I now have some new books to read and some self care products, so I’m a happy bunny. So sad about the little cat @mehefin hope she passes peacefully x
Glad to hear that DGC are settling in at schools and doing well. The trip to !kea didn’t happen on Tuesday so we are off there today and hope to fit the items in our car - we shall see… Dinner is grilled salmon, rice and tenderstem broccoli.Have a good day everyone

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Enjoy your trip out, I hope the sun shines on you. We currently have sun here but showers forecast for this afternoon. We had the torrential downpour too yesterday late afternoon. Everything looked bedraggled before, it's now looking worse!
Excitement of today is the boiler service this morning! I gave my padded jackets a quick wash through yesterday to freshen them up for the winter. I managed a slight prune of summer clothes too so the cs bag is looking a bit fuller slowly! I ordered a new heated throw too as I don't think my current one is getting as warm as it should do. I can't do with it conking out on me in the winter months without a new one in reserve. So slowly getting organised for what lies ahead! Oh I hate winter.
MEHEFIN I feel so sad for you with the poorly cat but you have made the right decision I think. Have a good day all if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
It's a dreary morning here, good morning anyway! The heavy rain which avoided here yesterday arrived during the night and hasn't stopped though it's easing away from torrential.I took my bedding and assorted spare pillowcases to the laundry yesterday where the lovely lady did them immediately. Big rollers did them all so quickly. I had one double duvet cover and eight pillowcases, all done for a fiver. She said £1.00 for the duvet cover and £0.50 each for the cases, a real bargain. Then I went back up the elderly friend to try to finally sort out the problems with her Apple ID on two devices, one very old and one very new. I was there for almost two hours, most of that was on chat with an extremely helpful and patient Apple agent who eventually untangled things at their end and talked me through the process to recover the account at my end. Once that was done the password had to be changed, more telephone calls with codes (she's only got a landline which complicated things) and one done. The other didn't like the new password so I resorted to phoning my techie nephew down south so went online and his own magic. Finally...well, almost. I had no appetite for downloading any apps onto the new iPad (her old one is too old to do the Bluetooth transfer) so I'll do the restore from the cloud later next week. Whacked, happy and hungry! As for today, I had plans to do some shopping though that's weather dependent. I lingered upstairs to sort out my trousers and jumpers - found out that I had many more of both than I thought. Trousers in four sizes and mostly black or navy. The two biggest sizes are now in the CS bag along with the biggest jumpers / tops. I've kept a couple to use as winter layers as I've not got mains gas / central heating.Lovely bargain @Coxy. Sorry about your soggy car @Chrisca. The winter tights were very welcome yesterday @Scarlet, haven't got winter knickers though.
Flannelette pjs are ready. Hope you survived the school mayhem @Camelot, just in time for the family chaos.
Take care all, hugs all round.11 -
Good morning from a wet and breezy Mehefinland
As expected the little black cat passed peacefully and is now buried under one of the elder bushes which was a favourite spot in the summertime as it was sheltered and in the sun. Think I got something in my eye for a moment.
The outlook on the weather is atrocious for the next few days so it will be a revert to indoor tasks for a while. Considering redecorating my bedroom - it is long overdue. May need to enlist some help to shift furniture though. I can not afford to hurt myself as I have no permanent back up for the animals, so I am super careful when doing any lifting etc. Had one dose of sciatica and do not want another!!
Saw my new friend for a chat and a cuppa yesterday. We had planned to go for a walk but it bucketed down and we didn't see the point in getting soaked . A convivial time none the less. Hoping to meet up again after the weekend.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone
It felt a lot cooler when I let the cats out earlier, hopefully the sun will come out later and warm us up a bit.
I spent a nice afternoon with my friend yesterday...we put the world to rights!
I'm not going to linger this morning as I need to get on with these Pip forms...I have most of it answered in rough, just need to transfer it to the form in 'neat' writing.
So I'll wish you all a good day x11 -
Morning All
Derek sorry to hear of little cats passing over the rainbow bridge but glad it was peaceful. Pleased your meeting up went well.
Gers well done on helping friends with her techie stuff. My friend and neighbour comes over to me occassionly as she sometimes has techie issues normally internet banking.
Chrisca my DGD left one of my back windows slightly ajar last year. Its an old car and by the time i realised i had a puddle in front footwell. Good of delivery driver to spot.
DH just off to one of his U3a clubs, im off to crochet later, hoping to finish tote bag.
Fairly heavy rain last night still sign of puddles this morning.
Right off to the butchers as they have special offer on which will be nice for tea on Saturday.
Hugs to all who want them.

Hi everyone,
We're with Nate today but he's having a fruit snack watching Fireman Sam.
Happy birthday for yesterday Coxy.
I met friends for coffee yesterday morning, one of them was furious with her daughter who had asked her for childcare at short notice. When the reply was that she already had commitments the daughter told her she didn't get much parental support from her. Given that she lives 150 miles away it's not just a case of popping in to babysit. I've already warned Laura that we will need as much notice as possible if they need us for childcare.
Better go TV time is over.
Have a good day.
