BG & OVO
Hi my couin had a caller round who persuaded her to move to BG from OVO & Said she would save £20 to£40 per month. Then had a follow up call from someone who said they were from BG & Told her that BG owned Ovo anyway,I have not heard this but would like to know if this is true. I am a bit concerned ,Thanks.

They don't.
However it has been reported on this forum that BG have been contacting customers who have put a switch away from them into operation and offered the customer a credit to their account if the customer agrees to stay with BG. It might be worth considering, particularly if you can get on a decent fix with BG.

It is simple to use uswitch to compare your existing tariff with other tariffs that are available, and switch if you choose to.Personally I use Octopus. They always have tariffs amongst the cheapest and they have great customer service. Every time they produce a bill they check against their cheapest tariffs an if prices get cheaper, I just call them to switch.0

Thanks, its my cousin she was doorstep called & talked into changing from OVO to BG,Then within 10 minutes called by someone who said they were BG who said BG own OVO,going to go round tomorrow & see what they have offered her.1

I would suggest that if your cousin gets another one of these idiots at the door, the first thing she should ask is please tell me those rates so I can check against what I am currently paying. I can guarantee they have absolutely no idea what the new suppliers rates are. They will sign anyone up on whatever rate per month suits their sales talk & then you will get the nasty we haven't been charging you enough bill & it will turn out to cost you even more.1
