Parking Charge Notice. Firm no longer operating.

Hoping for a little bit of advice on a parking charge notice issue.
I received an email and a text from a parking fine enforcement agency giving me a telephone number and reference number and asked me to give them a call. I thought it was a scam at first but I looked the firm up on the internet and they were genuine, so I rang them.
Turns out they are chasing a parking charge notice from May 2023. Its at a car park where I have parked in the past and the registration number of the car was mine at the time (since sold). Its almost certain this was me, however I don't remember overstaying my welcome and I've never had a Parking Charge Notice sent to me for this fine and no chasing letters.
They are asking for £160 payment but when I told them I had not had a PCN or any follow up letters they told me that they were unable to supply any supporting evidence as the firm operating the car park is no longer trading (I suspect the enforcement agency have bought the debt book).
I moved house last summer and the enforcement agency asked me to provide my new address for any "solicitor letters" should they need to take further action. I haven't supplied them with it yet.
There might be an obvious answer here but do I write to them formally and ask for evidence of the fine and if they can't supply inform them I won't be paying? TIA.

You really need this by email.
Ask which parking firm and can they supply any into such as a picture of the sign. And give them your new address - you must! Again NOT BY PHONE.
You will NEVER pay a penny but let's hear more about this. They can't buy debts.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they can't tell you who their client is (was, and no longer trading), even if they had a way of holding you liable (which they never could), there's no way in the world they'd have any prospect whatsoever in collecting from you. It is not, nor never was, any debt owing to a third party 'debt' collector!
Ignore them. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Ask innocently, let them dig a hole.
We need this for the Public Consultation.
