Can't speak to anyone at Experian!

My wife received an email from Experian today " A credit account has been added to your credit report". Never received such an email before. Went on the Experian app and it said there were two risks but we couldn't see what they were. I panicked and we tried to contact Experian. Either the phone numbers given were discontinued or we got disconnected. It seems Experian will only help if you have a paid account not if you have a free one. Was the email some dodgy way to try and get us to pay for a paid account? My wife went into her Lloyds account and looked at Transunion credit account and there seemed to be no problems. What should I do as I'm quite anxious about this?

You do not need to speak to Experian
If you have checked your credit report, and it's clear, you just get on with your life.
Probably unsubscribe from those emails0 -
Just check your report and see what accounts you have, it can be something as minor as a financial institution has chosen to start reporting to an agency. You should check all the accounts on Experian, Clear Score and Credit Karma just in caseSurfer59 said:My wife received an email from Experian today " A credit account has been added to your credit report". People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I had the exact same mail.
Logged in to Experian, couldn't see anything!
As you said , to see all your file you would have to pay.
Not sure if it's a mistake but I'm not choosing to pay.
I'm just hoping it's an e mail to panick people to pay for full report

You can get the report for free now when using the Experian app. Whenever I’ve had these types of messages, and not recently added any accounts, they’ve always been historic accounts starting to report. Octopus was a recent one - been with them for years but only recently showing on the report.0
