Anyone expecting to pick up their new C3/e-C3 from 1st Sept 2025 were told Citroen had informed all dealerships not to release the vehicles due to safety issues.
Eventually the fault was identified as a faulty brake pedal box which can disconnect making the car a death trap to drive.

Several prospective owners have chosen to reject their cars and received a full refund from their dealership. Others are sat on the fence undecided whether to reject or wait. Advice given on this site regards rejecting vehicle is incorrect, you do not contact the finance company first. If the vehicle is being purchased on PCP then the customer must contact the dealership first who must then either agree to accept the rejection or not, if they do then they have to repay the money they received from Stellantis Finance back to them who will then terminate the credit agreement and full refund will be issued in due course.

There is no information online about this stop dont drive on the cars, just the previous exploding air bag fiasco for older Citroens.  By the way the air bag stop dont drive was instigated due to the following incidents:

At least 18 people in France, both in the mainland and overseas territories, have been killed by the faulty Takata airbags fitted to Citroën vehicles, with at least 29 accidents recorded since 2016. This figure was reported as of late July 2025, with the French transport ministry having issued a "stop-drive" recall for over 2.5 million vehicles with these defective airbags.

Back to the latest stop don't drive on the newer vehicles there is no information coming from dealerships or Citroen. Information on a time scale can only be gathered from online ev forums where individual customers had been informed by their particular dealership that it could be at least a 3-4 week wait.  Dealers have negotiated hire cars via Enterprise for affected customers and some have negotiated compensation of a lump sum of £250.

I'm really not sure you can draw parallels between the two.

Takata airbags have caused almost every manufacturer to have recalls.

The two generations of C3 involved share absolutely nothing apart from a badge.
