Is it at risk of developing mould?

Hi,
At the first floor I have a bathroom with a bathtub, detached from the wall.
It has tiles all around up to 1.2 Mt of height. Above it there's only plasterboard.
Now I've  added a shower frame with plastic curtains all around.
The curtains don't touch the wall in any place.
Now that I've tested the shower I've noticed that even though that water didn't leak, on the wall there was some condensed steam (like on the mirror) that dried in 10 minutes or so.
I've never observed if in bathtub mode there was steam because I've never used that bathroom (I have a shower room upstairs).
Consider that the upper window is always open, even in winter, is this steam likely to develop mould if the shower is used every day?

Thanks

Possibly, personally I'd repaint the walls and ceiling with a proper mould resistant bathroom paint like Zinsser.

You may still get some, especially if people forget to open the window (after closing it if it's cold!). As above, paint the walls and ceiling with an appropriate paint. We used to get mould on our bathroom ceiling in our old house. Partly due to teenagers not opening the window after showering, but also because I'd used crap paint when I painted the ceiling. I gradually got round to repainting the ceiling, and the teenagers grew up and left home. No more mould.

Giving the walls a regular clean will also help.

I thought that it was the standard (or even mandatory) for bathrooms
  • Ventilation as much as possible is the key.

    I'm reading about Zinsser permawhite
    https://zinsseruk.com/products/permawhite-satin

It doesn't say if it's breathable.

It's low odour, but given you're trying to prevent mould you may struggle to find a paint which is also breathable in a potentially damp environment.

I have the permawhite satin in my bathroom (walls) and the matte on the ceiling and it's been mould free since I painted it. We don't have a window to open in there, just a very effective extractor fan.
