Advice on debt collectors for 6 PCN's - England

Hypothetically, probably not, because each case is decided on the facts, not the incorrect address held by the dvla, that error is betwee you and the dvla, now rectified I hope
You are putting out the fires started whilst you were asleep at the wheel, M.I.A
So going forward, once everyone is writing to the correct address then you and we can deal with each case as it arrives
More worrying for you would be council matters, like Parking, bus lanes, CAZ etc, tolls, ULEZ, DART, police notices, so anything official , as pointed out by Umkomaas earlier

Seriously?! Nobody pays private parking tickets all the time that they remain unregulated.longday1999 said:
Will do that thank you for your advice. Hypothetically if there were 22 (which hopefully I will find out soon as I have submitted a SAR), would I end up having to pay all these tickets? As it was obviously my fault for not updating the V5CGr1pr said:
Definitely each and every PPC, you mentioned 2 so far but there could be more like Umkomaas said, so at least 2, possibly 22 !longday1999 said:
Great thank you. Does this include the debt collection agencies or just the PPC?Gr1pr said:Update the DPO at every company involved, especially the private parking companies, by email, with proof of the new address, ideally using a picture of the updated V5c
Personally I would also do the same with the DPO at each powerless debt collector company too, and any legal company writing to you as well , any and all, because you dont want anything that can affect you going to old addresses, especially court claims
Its called a Data Rectification Notice and comes under the GDPR, Data Protection 2018, you have the right to rectify incorrect data held by companies etc
You don't risk paying or costs or a CCJ by following the official advice in the MSE Guide, checked this Summer by me and (separately) by Martin Lewis.
The MSE Guide is linked at the top of the forum. Please read it.
And after rectifying your address:FIGHTBACK ALERT:
Please do the government's Public Consultation. We need every poster to complete this vital survey before the deadline.
See this thread:
We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.
I've written some guidance to help focus new posters on the issues. I've covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.
Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.
CLOSES ON FRIDAY 26th SEPTEMBER.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
