I’m parking the car, will walk the kids. I’ll try and sort the insurance chaos and return with an update. Which I envisage will have set me aside yet another ton…. But just in case another human malfunctions in the future.

When I recently bought a new car, the cherished number plate was directly assigned to the new car. However, Aviva couldn’t find the car on the insurance database even though it was correctly shown on the DVLA site.
The VW Group include a few days free insurance with a new car and had no problem providing insurance. The motor insurance bureau seem to lack a working link with the DVLA and Aviva didn’t accept details shown by the DVLA.1 -
Do not have the car insured by 2 companies at the same time, it can be in their T&C’s that if the car is insured elsewhere they can refuse cover. If you have overpaid, just suck it up & be better organised for renewal next year.0
