Hi.
Thinking my next car should be a Kuga. Current car is a C4 Picasso, which is a really nice all-rounder.
The next car has to be at least as high in the seating and headroom department - just something I like for comfort and visibility.
So, Kugas changed at around the age where I'd be looking at - 2020-2022. Struggling to find reliable dimensions for each version - could anyone assist, please?
I was also ready to go 'auto', even tho' I like my stick - either option is ok. But, I've read that the autos need a special, multi-£undred, service every 3 years or so? What's the facts here?
Finally, I much prefer diesels for their lazy torquey ways, but 1.5 or 2 litre? Obviously the 2 is significantly more powerful, and only a little less economic, but any other comparisons betwixt them?
Thanks

    https://www.carsguide.com.au/ford/kuga/car-dimensions/2013

The 2020 Ford Kuga has an approximate length of 4614-4629 mm, a width (without mirrors) of 1883 mm and (with mirrors) of 2178 mm, and a height of 1675-1680 mm, though these figures can vary slightly by trim level and features like roof rails.

Use somewhere like Parkers for dimensions for the pre 2020 and post 2020 models.

Although I do have a 2020 MY brochure for the "All new Kuga" on my server (we were considering a nearly new one in 2020).

The autos are 8 speed and may be the same Ford-manufactured torque converter box (8F40?) as was fitted to our 19-plate Galaxy with 2.0 litre diesel engine-d car.  TC, rather than the twin clutch units that gave trouble and needed frequent oil changes.  You need to do more research / reading of the Ford Kuga owner forums for example.
The transmission will still need fluid change but not sure how often.

In the Kuga brochure the 2.0 litre 190PS diesel engine 8 speed auto comes only in 4x4 drive form.
2wd (front) is in 1.5l 120 PS diesel 8 speed auto.

The 2l diesel is also in manual 6-speed mild hybrid form... or there's the CVT gearbox 2.5l petrol engined variant.

Note that Ford axed the Kuga diesels shortly after this (21/22?).

Ford Kuga - Wikipedia is worth a look... Kuga Mk 3 is the 2020 on variant.

Thanks, folks - good stuff to get on with.
I'll leave my options open to both diesel sizes, but stick with 2wd and stick.

If you're going for a diesel kuga make sure you're going to be doing adequate mileage at adequate speed to keep the dpf in good check. I was stung for a massive bill to fix mine after switching jobs from a daily motorway run to a local 10 minute commute

Thanks. Yes, I'm aware of that potential issue.
Is the Kuga worse than other diesels in this respect? Does it require any additives - 'Blue' or whatevs?
My last two cars were diesels, a C3 Picasso - which developed 'particle warning' after 40k miles, before I discovered the existence of an Eolys bag and replaced it, and it was fully sorted - and my current C4 Picasso which, at 65k - hasn't missed a beat. And most trips are pretty short, in the region of 10 minutes.
(I have to say, I think the 1.6 Peugeot(?) diesel in these Citroens is superb - smooth, torquey, very eco, super-reliable).
Is the Ford diesel more delicate?

Kuga sizes, which explains why I found the earlier model more appealing. I guess I'm looking at the post-2020 now. It's weird - the latest model looks much lower, even in the flesh.
