Kingsize Beds
Comments

We always wanted a king size bed and eventually we treated ourselves to one. Wish we'd done it years ago when we were at the stage of feeding babies in the small hours. The baby we have now sleeps between us, right in the middle, 8 years old and is called Fluffy (after the three headed dog although he's a cat).
LOL

Just had our bedroom redecorated, including ripping out the old (less than 2 years old) fitted furniture and splashed out on made to order solid pine wardrobes.
The new bed is the last piece of the jigsaw but we have decided to go for a decent king size divan.
Can anybody recommend the best makes to go for. Can't find anything on google.

Rather than choose a make, I'd suggest you choose a mattress type and then go and test them out at your local store. Good stores will always have their beds displayed with pillows ready for customers to try. (Ikea was one of the first stores to encourage this concept; they make very popular beds, but I'm not sure that they'll have the divan set that you're looking for).
Usually the most expensive mattress type is a pocket-sprung; each spring is individually sewn into its own pocket and 'moulds' better to fit your body shape and weight. At the other end of the scale there are the simple 1-layer Bonnell spring mattresses.
In between the two extremes there are double-layer Bonnell springs, high density Bonnell springs and various other fancy springs. Another alternative is a latex mattress - the benefits of these are they are less allergenic (less house dust mite), doesn't need turning, but they're not easy find and usually expensive for what they are!
Personally, I went for a Relyon pocket-sprung king-size divan, but I suggest that you really ought to go to your local store and try them all out. Other good makes are Silentnight, Sealy, Dorlux ... but rather than choose a make, find a bed that you're comfortable with!0 -
Are you near an Ikea - very good mattresses and frames and very cheap. They also have sleep studio places where you try them all out. Also, what we are planning to do is save our Tesco vouchers to spend at MFI - their top of the range divans(£800-£900 for superkingsize) are absolutely fantastic !0

Went to our local shop at the weekend and have decided on a "Sealy Millionaire". It was retailing at £800, not sure whether this included drawers though.
Have searched the web and found a king size with 4 free drawers from
https://www.furniturewebstore.co.uk (£700)
and
https://www.happynightmares.co.uk (£500)
seems too good a deal to be true. I have tried asking on this site as to whether anybody has dealt with them but no luck so far. I have emailed asking for confirmation of price, including delivery but have heard nothing and that was 2 days ago.0
