Kingsize Beds

Looking for a king size divan bed. Can anybody suggest a good make, I was thinking Silentnight, and also a good place to buy from for reasonable prices.

Many thanks.

    just my opinion:

hello we recently bought a kingsize silientnight bed from the imagine range. Got it from bedworld.net (or was it sleepingsolutions - one of the two - all about the same price). Tried it in a shop first which is important, although slightly weak on ethics...

As for the bed - its ok but nothing better than that, we were on a tight budget and silientnight make budget-midrange beds. At the moment it feels a bit like a trampoline when my partner turns over in the night! I'm hoping it will settle (though i maybe clutching at straws).

In short, if you can afford it - avoid silientnight and go to John Lewis (or somewhere similar) and buy the best/most comfortable bed you can afford. For a budget <£500 I reckon silientnight are OK.

Thanks tulips. We are only looking for a stop gap at the moment as we are hoping to move house in the next 12 months or so and this purchase would then become a guest bed.

Mrs Gambler would ideally like one of the cast iron beds but it simply wouldn't fit in our current bedroom due to fitted furniture.

    Hi

Don't know if this is of any use but we recently bought a super kingsize bed from
Sleepmasters it was on special offer.
It is a iron bedframe and it came with a reasonable mattress (not top spec but good enough even hubby not complaining!) also a free duvet & 2 pillows, a duvet cover & 2 pillow cases, which again are reasonable quality.
    Price including delivery was £402 - a bargin I thought :0)

They also had lots of other offers for doubles & kingsizes some of them were divans but sorry I can't tell you exactly what they were, or if the offers are still available but it might be worth checking as they were great prices!

My advice would always be skimp on the bed and lash out on the mattress!
If the beds that bad buy a large valance set but most importantly sleep in comfort its work again in the morning!!

Check out Allied for a good deal on mattresses they have or are in the process of doing away with their bed line, I picked up a double from them a couple of months ago and got the mattress less than quarter of the normal price but I suspect you may be a little late, but what the heck phone head office and see if they can locate something for you, get them to ship to your local store and pick it up from there.

Personally I would avoid the iron bed frames. Some of our friends have got them and they all say that no matter how well you assemble the, they squeak at the slightest movement - not just the more energetic ones!

As Ben500 said, getting the right mattress would be a good move. I believe Sealy are one of the top manufacturers. Once you've got the mattress, just put it straight on the floor and then you can keep an eye out for frames on the cheap in furniture clearance places or online.

I would wait until argos have a sale. Every sale they have they put up a top notch bed for about £230. The bed is noticeable because it has a pillow top mattress, this is an extra soft bit sewn into the top of the mattress and makes 300% difference. I have one (n from argos sale ) and any other bed is now very uncomfy.

Well I have the bed situation sorted myself but if you know somewhere I can get a kitchen table that doesn't squeak I'd be interested!!!!
