2013 Nissan Trail
car recently passed MOT with advisory of suspension component corroded but not seriusly weakend 5.3.3 (b) (i) have been told its the shock absorbers but others say its the springs and the palce where MOT was done want £150 to diagnose the issue again anyone got any ideas what it could be

I wouldn't be too worried about that mark on an mot. Ask a garage that you trust to take a look when you get it serviced1

Shocks and coil springs are wear 'n' tear items, and on a 2013 car it's not unusual for them to need replacing. Not expensive, either, if you're lucky enough to have a reputable independent mechanic nearby (such things are bread & butter for any mechanic, you don't need a Nissan specialist).SWD2025 said:the palce where MOT was done want £150 to diagnose the issue again0

It's probably the springs. I have had the same advisory on a car year after year. If the springs actually break, it's a problem. Otherwise, ignore it.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
