Duplicate Parking Charges

I received duplicate parking tickets from UK Parking Control Ltd in February 2025. My work automatically pays parking charges so I normally cannot dispute them however for some reason the duplicate one wasn't settled. I contacted UK Parking Control to inform them that there was a duplicate charge with the first one being settled and I received email confirmation from them that the duplicate charge has been cancelled.

I thought the situation was now settled however in July 2025, I received a letter from DCB Legal Ltd stating that I had not paid the charge (they quoted the duplicate reference) and the balance had increased from £50 to £170. I was taken back as I had email confirmation that the ticket has been cancelled but thought it may have been automatically passed to them and it was simply a timing issue. I contacted DCB Leal and shared the email confirmation from UK Parking Control which states that the duplicate charge "has been cancelled and no further action is required" and that the first charge has been settled.

To my surprise DCB Legal responded on 3rd September 2025 and stated I had provided "an absence of any evidence" and the £170 is still due. Appreciate the advice is not to contact them but given the actual parking charge company has cancelled it I didn't think it would be an issue. I'm perplexed as to what other evidence I can provide when I have already shared confirmation that the duplicate charge has been cancelled so I'm not sure what else I can do?

I have contacted UK Parking control to see if they can cancel the case with DCB Legal from their side but any advice or help to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated.

why does your work automatically pay an unregulated parking company?
this should be an unauthorised deduction from wages/pay.
what are the terms of using the vehicle(s)?
That would mean I could make a parking charge notice up, send it to your company and then they will pay me

Completely agree it's a strange process but it is what it is and discussing this wasn't the point of the post. I'm just looking for advice on navigating the duplicate charge situation.

    1. Show us all letters/emails. UKPC cancelling it, then your reply then DCB Legal's response.

    2.  You should lodge a formal complaint (not by phone) with UKPC for illegally storing, processing and then sharing data of a cancelled PCN. Tell them you will report them to the BPA, DVLA and the Information Commissioner if they fail to call their dogs off and erase the data once and for all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

DCB Legal will always tell you to pay, no matter what. They are still debt collectors at heart.

If you get aggressive with them they can be made to get back in their kennel.
