Transfer from HSBC foreign currency account to HSBC Global Money account

Hi,
I have a US dollars HSBC currency account, I wanted to transfer some dollars from that account into my HSBC Global currency account, for some strange reason I don't get the option to transfer between these two accounts, I tried both on the app and online and nothing,
I thought you could easily transfer between these two accounts but no, no option .
Has anyone encountered this situation?

It is possible to do this but not obvious.

Using the app, select your Global Money account from the main account list screen.

    Then select “Add money”.

Under From, press on select account. You can then select your USD Currency Account.

Then change the currency from GBP to USD with the selector arrow.

Type in the amount of dollars you want to top-up.

Check all the details and press continue, the money will then move instantly into a USD currency balance under the Global Money account.

Glad it worked, you are welcome!

A further oddity with this, which you’ve probably already worked out, is that you can see transactions and manage the Currency Account in online banking (but not the app) while Global Money is in the app but can’t be managed from online banking.

However, to give HSBC some credit, once you work out how to do things, the accounts are quite functional and seem to work well.

Couldn't open a global money account jointly, so opened one in each name, but we now cannot find how to transfer US dollars from one account to the other so that we can both spend dollars on our separate debut cards. If anyone can help we'd be really grateful, neither the branch not phone lines have been able to....

In the app select Pay → Manage Global Money payees → Add new payee.

Thanks, but we still couldn't get it to work. Entering a payee it asks for country, which is UK, but then it requires only bank sort code and account, not iban, and says to contact the payee to check details. Hsbc itself has referred it to its IT dept...... So more hours wasted....

    Select Other Account, not HSBC.
