Online probate submission - documents to be sent

Hi, I have now completed the probate online.

At the end it asked me for the cover sheet (done) plus the original will.

This is just a panic from me. Do I need to send anything else such as a death certificate?

thank you

After the help on here I was very surprised how easy it was.

thank you

All you need to do is print out the cover sheet using the link and send the original will - preferably using Special Delivery.

They have access to the death certificate using the code you would have provided in the application. Just a heads up for sending the Will, if you have any way of getting a copy of the Will (preferably properly certified) before sending it off please do. Friend’s Mother’s will was mislaid at the scanning stage and she had to jump through many hoops to get probate. The process is far simpler if you can prove what was in it.

But do not remove any staples or other bindings when copying!! It will hold up the application.

I agree a properly certified copy could be very handy to have at home. I got one a few years back before sending off the paperwork, local solicitor copied and certified it for £5 (cash)
