Transferring a joint account to single account

Hi
I currently have a joint account with my husband, but we are separating and we need to transfer out to single accounts.
Half the bills are going to remain the same so want an easy way of doing it!
When you switch banks they do it for you.
Is there something similar for when you switch to single accounts but not all payments need to come across?

Just open a new accounts and set up new direct debits - that's the easiest way to do it.0

I know I can see up new dds but there's lots of them and lots of companies to contact.
Was hoping there was more of an automatic way...0 -
not you can switch half of your direct debits and not close the existing account - try whichever bank you have the joint account with and see what they can do for you0

The list of direct debits can't be too long. It shouldn't take you more than half an hour to contact the appropriate companies and get the direct debit details amended.0 -

But, I agree a new account is probably the best option for the OP.0 -
If you have online accounts with any of the companies you might be able to change your bank details for the direct debits online. In that case you won't have to ring them.1
