Car Allowance - PILON

I am about to take VR and have been told that my car allowance isn't part of my pay. I have been receiving it for 5 years,

Depends upon your contract but my car allowance is not part of my base salary, even though it is contractual.

Car allowance is usually separate from pay. More importantly it should be noted that VR is where the employee leaves of their own accord rather then being forced to leave by the employer dispensing with their services due to their job becoming redundant. There are strict laws concerning the second, but not the first

They can calculate VR on any multiple of any component of the salary and reward package.
I assume there will be a settlement agreement.  
In negotiating the settlement agreement, you can seek to have an amount added to the calculated offer determined from base salary.  Whether that is reflective of the same multiple of car allowance, or simply added as a "go away" sum or whatever.
If you don't agree a VR package, what alternative options are there for you with this employer?
