Natwest Reward Account DDs question

Thinking of switching my Select Account to a Reward Account.  My question is around the timing of the DDs.  The ones I want to put on there come out of my account on the 1st of each month.  If I converted my account now, would I go the month of September being charged the £2 fee and not get anything back because the Direct Debits are not due until 1st October?  Or does it not work like that?

I don't think I got charged the £2 fee until I had the account for a month, but it was a while ago so I can't be certain.

The rewards take about six weeks anyway before you can exchange/transfer them, so it won't match up nicely however you do it.
