1. One winner per month (four total). Each winner will receive a £0/month energy tariff for 12 months, subject to a fair use limit equivalent to Ofgem’s medium typical household consumption (e.g. 2,700 kWh electricity and 11,500 kWh gas per year).

The promotion's eligibility

1. To be eligible to enter into the Promotion you must meet all of the following requirements:

• aged 18 or over;
• be entering as a residential customer;
• be responsible for the supply contract for energy at your home;
• reside in Great Britain (not available in Northern Ireland); and
• not be an employee of EDF, its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents (this includes EDF Power Solutions, EDF Trading, EDF Heat Pumps, Contact Solar and Pod). 

The "Win a year’s free energy with EDF" promotion terms and conditions

The Promotion

1. The Promotion will run from 00:01 on 22 August 2025 until 23:59 on 21 December 2025 (the “Promotional Period”). 

2. The Promotion consists of four (4) prize draws (each a “Prize Draw” and together the “Prize Draws”). An entry into the Promotion enters you into all subsequent Prize Draws that run under the Promotion. Each winner of a Prize Draw will win a £0 gas and electricity residential tariff (nil unit rate and nil standing charge) with EDF which will expire 12 months from the date of the tariff commencement (the “Prize”). 

   Entering the Promotion

3. To be eligible to enter into the Promotion you must meet all of the following requirements:

   a.) be aged 18 or over; 

   b.) be entering as a residential customer;

   c.) be responsible for the supply contract for energy at your home;

   d.) reside in Great Britain (not available in Northern Ireland); and

   e.) not be an employee of EDF, its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents (this includes EDF Power Solutions, EDF Trading, EDF Heat Pumps, Contact Solar and Pod). 

   4. To enter the Promotion, you must visit the dedicated website which can be found here: www.edfenergy.com/win  (the “Promotion Website”) and complete all mandatory fields on the online web-form in accordance with the instructions on the Promotion Website, during the Promotional Period. 

   5. The Promotion does not require a purchase to enter.

   6. Only one Promotion entry is permitted per household. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

   7. You can remove your entry from the Promotion at any point by emailing: competitions@edfenergy.com

   8. Any entries received after the Promotional Period are automatically disqualified.

   9. EDF will not accept entries to the Promotion that are completed by third parties or in bulk.

   The Prize Draws 

   10. One winner will be drawn per Prize Draw from all Promotion entries which meet the eligibility requirements in clause 3 being assigned a number and using a random number generator. 

   11. One Prize Draw will be drawn per month of the Promotional Period, for four consecutive months, as follows:

   a.) the first Prize Draw winner will be drawn from all eligible entries submitted from 00:01am on 22 August 2025 until 23:59 on 21 September 2025; 

   b.) the second Prize Draw winner will be drawn from all eligible entries submitted from 00:01am on 22 August 2025 until 23:59 on 21 October 2025;  

   c.) the third Prize Draw winner will be drawn from all eligible entries submitted from 00:01am on 22 August 2025 until 23:59 on 21 November 2025; and

   d.) the fourth Prize Draw winner will be drawn from all eligible entries submitted from 00:01am on 22 August 2025 until 23:59 on 21 December 2025.

   12. All eligible entries will be considered for the earliest applicable Prize Draw and will be automatically considered for the subsequent Prize Draws during the Promotional Period. 

   13. No customer will be eligible to win more than one Prize, and each winner will be removed from consideration for subsequent Prize Draws.

   14. If a Prize is not claimed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or EDF determines the Prize Draw entry was not eligible, then it shall redraw in accordance with Clauses 10 and 11 above.

   15. EDF reserves the right to disqualify any entry which does not fully comply with these Terms and Conditions or if the entrant’s conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Promotion. 

   Claiming the Prize

   16. EDF is under no obligation to award a Prize to anyone who EDF determines, in its sole discretion, did not have an eligible entry. 

   17. Winners of a Prize will be contacted by EDF using the details provided on the Promotion Website. 

   18. EDF will ask any winner to provide evidence of identity and may be asked questions to check their eligibility. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners. Once eligibility has been confirmed, the winner will be asked whether they want to accept the Prize.

   19. If a winner does not accept the Prize within 14 days of being contacted by EDF, EDF reserves the right to disqualify that entrant and award the Prize to an alternative winner, selected in the same manner outlined in Clauses 10 and 11 above.

   20. If a winner is already an EDF residential customer:

   a.) EDF will contact the winner within 28 days of their acceptance of a Prize to arrange for their EDF account to be updated with the Prize.

   b.) The Prize will not affect the winner’s existing EDF account balance. For the avoidance of doubt, any debt or credit currently on the winner’s EDF account shall remain unchanged and will not be off-set or reduced by the Prize.

   21. If a winner is not an EDF residential customer:

   a.) The winner will be responsible for switching their household energy supply to EDF’s Standard Variable Tariff within 28 days of accepting a Prize. EDF shall apply its standard eligibility criteria for EDF’s Standard Variable Tariff if you are switching. EDF will not be responsible for any costs associated with transferring the supply, for example any exit fees incurred or paying off debt on an existing energy account. 

   b.) Once the winner has switched their household energy supply to EDF, then EDF will contact the winner to arrange for their EDF account to be updated with the Prize.

   c.) If a winner does not successfully switch their energy supply to EDF (for any reason) within 28 days of accepting a Prize, EDF reserves the right to disqualify that entrant and award the Prize to an alternative winner, selected in the same manner outlined in Clause 10 above.

   22. Once a Prize has been awarded it shall apply until it expires (see Clause 2 above), or the winner switches their household energy supply away from EDF. After the Prize expires, the EDF account will automatically switch to the EDF Standard Variable Tariff, EDF will be in contact to discuss your cheapest tariff options. 

   23. The Prize is restricted to home energy use only. Any energy usage for commercial or illegal purposes will result in the Prize being revoked. 

   24. A Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for monetary value or for any other form of compensation. A Prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

   25. No alternative Prizes will be awarded. 

   General

   26. The Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other EDF account credit promotions.

   27. These terms and conditions are separate and supplemental to any other terms and conditions that you may have with EDF and will not affect the existing rights and obligations under those terms. 

   28. EDF may request that each of the winners participate in publicity arising from the Promotion. Participation is at the winner’s discretion and is not a condition of Prize acceptance. 

   29. EDF must make available information that indicates that a valid Promotion took place. To comply with this obligation EDF will send the surname and county of the winners to anyone who writes within one month after the Promotional Period requesting such details and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to FAO: Energy Sales & Marketing, EDF Energy Customers Limited, 329 Portland Road, Hove, BN3 5SU. If you object to any or all of your surname and county being provided, please notify EDF. In such circumstances, EDF must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

   30. EDF reserves the right, at its sole discretion to extend, revoke, amend or replace the Prize and any of the terms and conditions contained herein, or where it must comply with the decision of any relevant judicial or regulatory body, with immediate effect and shall not be held liable for doing so. The latest version of these terms will be available via the Promotion Website. 

   31. No responsibility can be taken for entries which are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or which cannot be submitted for any technical, or other reason. Proof of submitting an entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt. EDF does not guarantee continuous or secure access to the Promotion Website.  

   32. EDF is not liable to you for any loss you incur howsoever caused, including but not limited to any losses which arise from any technological or procedural omission, failure or error and/or any action or inaction by EDF or any other third party or event beyond direct control to which EDF may rely upon in order to provide the Prize to you.

   33. By entering into the Promotion, you agree that any personal information provided by you in relation to the entry may be held and used by EDF or its agents and suppliers to administer the Promotion in accordance with EDF’s privacy policy which can be viewed here: https://www.edfenergy.com/terms-conditions/privacy-cookie-policy 

   34. If any part/s of these Terms & Conditions are legally ruled to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remainder will not be affected and will continue in full force and effect. 

   35. By entering, you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

   36. If there is a discrepancy between these Terms & Conditions and those in any promotional material, these Terms & Conditions will prevail.

   37. These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law and their interpretation and application will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
