Holiday Inn Express Luton Airport parking

Hi, I had to drop off my sister today at Luton Airport who insisted I wouldn't be charged if I dropped her off at the Holiday Inn Express, however after entering the car park I noticed the inevitable parking charges notices. I had intended to just stop immediately before entering on the double yellows but a car was behind me so had to actually go onto their property and drop off, albeit quickly, inside.
Has anyone had any recent experience of drop offs there and do you know whether I might end up with a parking charge heading my way.
