Christmas is very popular in the Canaries so flights and accommodation is expensive and gets booked up early. Mainland Spain is cheaper but the weather won't be so good.
Personally, I don't think the the cost is worth it. Also, I prefer to book self catering apartments in Tenerife or Lanzarote as you get more space and privacy than hotels and there are countless places to eat out.0 -
