Good morning
Raining and thunderstorms forecast for later. Yesterday afternoon we had loud claps of thunder but no rain.
Dgd returned to school yesterday, let's hope it works out for her, she was actually looking forward to going back.
Last nights stew was delicious, even if I do say so myself. Didn't do dumplings, but had baguette to soak up the gravy instead. No idea what's for tonight, will decide later.
Derek, I'm so pleased for you, lifes too short to be unhappy. I'm sure Dawn is smiling down on you.
Have a good day all, take care.8 -
Morning all, rain on and off. I decided to take Ldog out early as he doesn't seem to want his breakfast early but it was quite busy with the schoolkids walking to school & traffic so might not bother doing that again. It just seems like half the morning has disappeared when we go out after brekkie. DS2 came down the road in the van when we were walking back & came in for a cuppa and to ask DH about some tool he wanted to order. He said DGS had enjoyed his 1st day at high school, DGD starts back today ( not the same one as DGS)I need to mop the kitchen floor this morning, but that's the only job thats pressing , alongside a kitchen tidy. I did plenty of ironing yesterday including the 4 new school shirts for DGD.We'll have something from this mornings order for tea.Camelot I hope your long days are soon over.Mehefin, Dawn gave you her blessing so just go with the flow and enjoy the company. Hope the date goes well.Right better clear the worktop for the shopping arrival. Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, thanks for today's start @Scarlet. Yesterday's weather wasn't quite as bad as forecast - the sun made a brief and watery appearance around lunchtime for a little while, then it was back to cloud and more rain overnight. This morning started off bright but it's already turning cloudy, a generally changeable day is expected, top daytime temps reaching just 15 deg.
While I was having my first cuppa this morning I could tell by the amount of cars vying for a parking space that our local schools are back in full swing now. After that I did the daily check of my Inbox and saw there was an email purporting to be from the local council about a "remittance advice". It wasn't expected, the sender's IP address isn't familiar, the main body of the message doesn't give any clues and nowhere does it mention me by name or quote an account number although there is an attachment and a hyperlink for more info, neither of which I've opened. It all seems rather suspect so I've forwarded it on to the council for them to look at and have deleted it. I think it's a scam. As for the rest of the day, it's one of those "nowhere to be, no-one to see" ones and housework is all up to date, so I'm going to indulge in a day of crafting. Tea tonight is mac'n cheese, maybe a bit of side salad too.
@mehefin - You're bound to have mixed feelings about your upcoming "date" but I hope you have a good time, no matter how it turns out. Dawn would want you to enjoy each and every day.
Have a good day all, take care. Healing wishes (and hugs) for the poorly ones. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Derek, well done, I hope you have a lovely date.
I've not had time to post, we're in Bristol with the family and it's very chaotic and hectic.7
