Morning All
It's a bright start to the day for a change, lovely to see. Rain is due later, just the day when I'm planting up the tubs at school!
Talking of school, it's all been a bit full on. Working from 7.30 to 5.30 is not good for anyone! Another late finish today as the HT wants a lot of his folders sorting and it's the only quiet time we have to do it. I'll be glad when this inspection is over!
Not a lot else happening but with not being in the house is still fairly tidy, will have a clean round at the weekend.
Hope everyone is well and the poorlies recovering. Have a good holiday Nanny.
Take care. XX10 -
Morning again, it seems to be dry.
Not much on today, dh is going to the hearing aid clinic, and that's the main event! There's a Home B**gains nearby so I think I'll go with him and pop in there. What exciting lives we lead.
Welcome home Dp1, glad you had a nice time.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the poorlies, take care folks.10 -
Morning everyone - thanks for the start @Scarlet. Those are long days @Camelot, keep fuelling yourself, it's a slog doing folder sorting, must be much easier to not get them in a mess in the first place! It was so lovely to read about your little one @DP1, that's such an improvement since last year, and a huge relief for your and your DD.Yesterday was mixed. Cleaner came
I had my test at surgery
- the nurse filled seven wee bottles with my blood which immediately made me say 'that's almost and armful' and made myself laugh! The gardener chap didn't come as the weather was bad. He'll rearrange, luckily the job isn't urgent so it can wait.
I did a load of washing in hope, which was dashed. It's all now on the clothes horse upstairs and on the bannister. The wind was a drying one but the rain certainly wasn't.Today I have to go up to the big shops to collect two orders. I'll do a little shopping though not much is needed. What I need now is my first coffee. I hope that all are well, take care. Hugs all round.10 -
Morning allStill in bed, must get up and do some dusting etc in a mo. Found a channel on TV that plays Oldies songs/videos. They put the year up of the song and takes me back to that period in my life. Housework gets done quicker when you're singing along at the top of your voice! It's looking like another wet and blustery day here again so no mooching about in the garden today.Hope everyone has a good day x9

Morning folks. Peace reigns here now after a hectic couple of days. DD came up Tuesday morning to pick up DGD and stayed overnight. She had arranged a get together with a couple of friends here to use up stuff she had in the freezer here so it could be turned off. We spent the afternoon drinking Pimms on the decking followed by a random buffet selection of stuff in the evening whilst playing silly games. An enjoyable day.
They departed yesterday afternoon as DGD is back at school today so all on my own now till.i go home on Monday. A rainy day is forecast today then a couple of days sunshine. Much reading on the agenda.
Hope all are OK and NAN has a lovely break away. Take care all stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning all. It's just stopped raining here.
I got my cake made yesterday so that DH can have the kitchen today to make a batch of GF sausage rolls. I'll keep out of the way and probably catch up with last night's TV. I also need to get a nice bottle of wine to take away with us this weekend so could pop out and get that also.
We have leftover cauliflower cheese to eat for lunch and a couple of veggie lasagnes for dinner. A bit of ironing to do, some music practice and then I'm ready for my weekend away.
Have a super day everyone and keep dry.12 -

Morning all, yesterday we took up Dad's shopping and I had to clean out his fridge as I don't know what sort of organisms were growing in there. He couldn't work out how to open his wallet to pay for his shopping, mind you perhaps he didn't want us to see how much cash he was carrying because we've warned him about that before, someone may get wind that he has a lot of cash in it.
I had to get the step ladder out at midnight as the smoke detector was furiously beeping, meanwhile Mr Fix It slept through the noise. I was awake again at 4am so I have already stripped the bed and had a boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast. I haven't had much shut eye but I still have lots to do today, how come I thought I had everything under control to be ready for hols but here I am like a headless chicken and we're off tomorrow morning !
Sadly we're in for another thundery day, we had a few very loud claps of thunder and torrential rain yesterday afternoon then some sun later. As long as it dries up by tomorrow for us to get to the site and settled we'll be happy bunnies.
Thank you for your your good holiday wishes.
Take care all, look after yourselves and be good !!
nan xx

Morning all from dull but dry(at the moment) Mehefinland,
Bucketed down last night and the roads are still awash in places. Grass is definitely greener - the dust has all been washed off lol. We seem to have our own little micro climate here as I have been talking to several people who only live about 10 miles as the crow flies and they have luxuriant lawns, green fields etc etc. Here its reminiscent of the dust bowl scenes of the American mid West. I can not remember the farmers feeding their stock with fodder this early into the autumn/winter months ever. It is a little worrying.
My lovely retired farrier friend has had a stroke and is currently hospitalised. He is one of those people who has to be doing something - I don't think it is going to be an easy recovery for him. He only retired when he had a knee replacement and could no longer do the shoeing. My age too!
** Breaking news** I'm not sure how you lot will think about this, and I was in two minds whether to say or not for a huge amount of reasons, BUT... I've got a date!! Don't dust off the wedding hats yet!! Dawn always said " you'll find someone else" and I always said no, but the fickle hand of fate etc. It's not as if I've gone looking - just sort of happened, and it may come to nothing. Time will tell. In some ways I'm glad to get that bit of news off my chest, but there are other thoughts too , not least guilt. However I am determined to try to do something in my latter years and make the most of my time, and I am not going to be that person who hides away and mopes- I've hopefully done the worst part of that. Very mixed feelings currently - I'm waffling so will shut up now..
Hugs and spoons as always
