Phone recycling return lost in mail - refund?

So I tried to trade in my old phone (s21 ultra) to fonehouse but they gave me a poor offer and I declined it. They sent it back via royal mail tracked 24 but the return shipment appears to be lost (royal mail checking second time with depot now).
When I asked royal mail, they said the sender (fonehouse) would have to raise a case with them and they'd be reimbursed for it.
How do I get money back for my phone I sent them but got lost and can I ask for more than they valued it for (other companies potw tally might pay more)? Or might they claim maximum but only give me pittance if anything - has anyone had experience with such a situation?
Thanks

Was the phone lost? If there a guaranteed delivery timeframe for Royal mail Tracked 24? If the phone was indeed lost, then the contract was between fonehose and Royal Mail. So you need to go through fonehouse to make your claim. In good condition I think the phone might be worth £170. How much did fonehouse value it at? Have you got anything to evidence the condition of the phone - such as a report from fonehouse0

Fonehouse sent it 18th August but never arrived after initial failed delivery when I requested redelivery.
Fonehouse was offering 108 on website reduced to 50 something after review and 60 odd after I declined the offer. Phone working fully tiny superficial scratch marks on screen and case, their report said as much too, but comes under fialty category for fonehouse, probably get better elsewhere.0 -
How did you send it to them? What was it protected for if it had got lost on its first journey?0

As they or you don't have the phone how can you get anymore as you can't say what the condition of the mobile is as it doesn't exist anymore.
Good job you have photos of the IMEI number so the mobile can be blocked as lost/stolen incase it falls into somebody's hands.0
