Dfs sofa advice

Hi all, first time posting on here.

I'm looking for some advice regarding my DFS sofa. I purchased a recliner back 2 years ago and I've had nothing but problems with the one seat. They've been out twice to try and fix it and now they've come out again and they've decided they need to order a new part the actual reclining part, now this part has been on order for the past 5 weeks and we just keep getting messages to say there's a delay. What are my rights in requesting a refund we did take out the extra insurance with them.

  • What does the insurance cover and what does it say with regards to delays with repairs/repairs being unachievable?

Outside the insurance you have the right to reject, if they've admitted fault then it's straightforward but they can impose a deduction for use (you can if you wish reject both recliners if purchased at the same time).

Other option is to get it repaired somewhere else and seek cost of this damages.

Mentioning you want to reject might get them in gear :)

Is the insurance for fabric protection, or extended warranty, or what?

Having had the sofa for a couple of years, your maximum remedy would be reduced be a pro-rata amount for the time you have had the sofa against the typical life-span of a sofa.
