anyone know how I find out that information of should I just swap to another octopus tariff?

Over Winter you probably won't export much. For example we only exported 15kWh last November, and 2 each in December and January. Compared with 800+ over the Summer months.

One option might be to keep your export with Octopus even though it drops to 4p/kWh. That might still be better overall if you get a good import tariff elsewhere.

Can you do that, keep octopus for export and import from another provider?

Yes, but you'll only get Octopus's basic SEG tariff which (I think) is ~4p/kWh.
As above, solar generation will probably drop off a cliff in October and won't reappear until February.
